Dakota Access announces donations to North Dakota first responders, youth groups

Three press conferences were held to present the donations Tuesday, Oct. 17. The donations were “offered in goodwill by the company” and can be used to purchase new equipment, perform additional training or for other purposes.

Separately, the North Dakota FFA Foundation and the North Dakota 4-H Foundation each received donations of $35,000 from Dakota Access. The funds will “benefit local youth in the seven North Dakota counties the pipeline traverses, as well as students across the state through conference sponsorships and curriculum support,” according to a news release.

The announcements come on the heels of a $15 million donation the company gave to the state of North Dakota to help with law enforcement costs from the months long protests over the pipeline.
